During this unique cultural experience, you will meet the temple's head priest, who will share insights into Buddhist philosophy and Japanese spiritual traditions. The session also includes a short meditation to calm the mind.
One of the most special parts of the experience is receiving your own personal Kanji name. Unlike alphabet letters, Japanese Kanji characters each carry their own meaning. The head priest will choose meaningful characters based on your name and explain the symbolism behind them.
You will then grind traditional ink and practice writing your new Kanji name using a brush in a calligraphy session. The session is welcoming and enjoyable even for complete beginners.
The experience begins with a welcoming bowl of Japanese matcha tea and concludes with a quiet moment of gratitude, appreciating the connection created during this encounter.
